Been a while

I'm still here. Biggest news is that I became a dad on June 21st, 2011. We brought home little Laurel from the agency. Sweetest little thing on earth. SMiles at everyone, sleeps through the night, is bright and attentive ( but sometimes a bit clingy, lol) She's starting to sit and will be starting real food this weekend! it has been a great joy ( and a freakin hard job) being a stay at home dad, watching the little moments unfold. I am saddened by my faithful furry buddy's decline. He's almost 14, and has a meningioma on his brain stem. He's been taking prednisone since July of 2010 when he was diagnosed. I guess it could be worse- we are hoping he hangs in until Christmas for Laurel. He is "our" first dog together. Gotta run the munchkin needs an oil change...
To the trifecta of terrific-ness! Have a great day ladies!
Happy Birthday to my pirate brothers crimsontom and barleymash
Haven't been mr mcposty here lately. Things are going ok. Got a lot of yard work done this weekend. Gearing up for trip to Seattle a week from Thursday to see mom for Mother's Day. Wish my family wasn't so spread apart.

Tired, this heatwave screws up my sleep cycle.

Writer's Block: Regime Change

Today marks the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. Obama's campaign was built around a message of change. What changes would you most like to see in the next 4 years?

Healthcare, checks and balances restored, Habeas Corpus restored, CEO's getting taxed out the ass for unjustified exit packages when their companies crawl to the Capitol for bailout $.

Writer's Block: Humans and Cylons

The final episodes of Battlestar Galactica begin today. The sci-fi drama often explores the relationship between humans and machines. At what point do we consider a machine with artificial intelligence to be an individual with its own feelings and rights?

when it gets the ability to reproduce on its own as a species. And then the running and the screaming happens.

Excerpt from T Boone Pickins

President-elect Obama said it best a few weeks ago on 60 Minutes. “Oil prices go up, gas prices at the pump go up, everybody goes into a flurry of activity. And then the prices go back down and suddenly we act like it’s not important, and we start, you know, filling up our SUVs again. And, as a consequence, we never make any progress. It’s part of the addiction, all right. That has to be broken. Now is the time to break it.”

Now we're in that "oh yeah gas is under 2$ a gallon fill 'er up!" mode. It's the crack dealer feeling the pinch, the tobacco company looking for more people to addict that they're giving away free samples. Doesn't make a difference when national unemployment is cresting 10% and welfare and UEI claims are through the roof now is it? NY State is going all doomsday with it's budget. We have to drive oil down to the point where it's under a dollar a barrel- to the point where they're giving it away to no one. We have to push harder and stronger more than ever now. 40 years ago we were saying the same exact thing.

don't be fooled, it won't last past Feb.

Happy Birthday screamingdolai

hope it's fantabulous!

Writer's Block: Physical Education

Call it gym, P.E., recess, or pure hell, most people have participated in a class at school that focused on games and athletics. What sport or game did you hate the most when you were a kid? What sport or game was your favorite?
Dodgeball- least favorite. Soccer most favorite.
